Week 3: Mashup Rendering

  During my p2p critique, my partner and I were able to narrow down my designs to two, my “Duck Tank” and “Bunny Scooter”. I liked them about the same amount, however we both noticed that the “Bunny Scooter” would have more individual parts to render. In addition, upon closer inspection, the helmet my bunny was wearing clipped through the head, and so using the explode function, I managed to remove the unnatural parts.

    The “Bunny Scooter”, contributes to remix culture by not only combining different models, it also combines ideas. It was composed of taking others' original figures, and “remixing” them together to create something new. In most cases, I doubt those who originally created these models thought they would be turned into a bunny riding a scooter, however that's what makes my art take a truly new form. The juxtaposition of making a soft, cute pet ride a scooter far too big for it, creates funny imagery that the viewer knows isn't possible, but is still fun to look at.
